Robert “Clare” Brunt, 95, of Temperance, MI, died Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Ebeid Hospice Residence.  Born June 10, 1920, in Samaria, MI, he was the son of Irwin and Maysie (Elliott) Brunt.  He married Freda Hutchison on June 27, 1941 in West Unity, Ohio.  Clare was the General Manager for the former Whitman Ford in Temperance, MI, retiring in 1985. Prior, he worked for Toledo Scale.  Clare was an avid toy collector and owned several antique vehicles. He enjoyed wintering in Venice, Florida, spending time with his family, but most of all watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. Clare knew Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was a member for 80 years of Temperance First Baptist, now Bridgepoint Church, where he had served as deacon, trustee and usher.

Clare is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Freda; sons, James (Sandra) and John (Kathleen) Brunt; grandchildren, James (Kathryn) Brunt and Jill (Chad) Hauff; great granddaughter, Taylor Madeline Hauff.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth, Earl and Ellis Brunt; sisters, Merle Yarger and Ruth Jones.

Services will be private.  The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Ebeid Hospice Residence for their wonderful care and compassion during Clare’s illness.
